Overview
Item Locations can also be used to separate Recipe Costing by Location. This can be useful if you're trying to determine how much a specific recipe costs across multiple Restaurants.
Item Locations on Recipes
To begin, open a Recipe record and navigate to the 'Ingredients' tab. This tab allows you to view the Batch and Portion costs of each Ingredient in the Recipe.
- By default, each Location your user has access to will be selected in the Location selector
- When only one Location is selected, only that Location's costs will be displayed
- When more than one Location is selected, the average cost will be displayed
- You can also view ingredient Item Locations costs on the Recipe Item Location record itself
On the Item Locations list, locate the Recipe you want to review by searching in the 'Item' column. Open the record and navigate to the 'Ingredients' tab. This tab is informational only and can be used to see the ingredient costs in any given Location. These costs come from Item Location costing on the ingredients themselves, making the cost Location-Specific from start to finish.
Costing separation is applied in recipes, nested recipes, found on reporting and on transactions such as Stock Counts.
Item Locations can help you get insight into the cost differences within your locations, no matter how subtle they may be.
